Sanders Lee is Founder and Executive Chairman of the Hopewell Group of Companies (the “Group”), a leading Canadian real estate enterprise with over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial development, property management, logistics, final mile delivery, venture capital and property technology. An active member of the Calgary business community, Sanders was named one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 in 1999. He supports visionary entrepreneurs in healthcare, renewable energy, education, logistics, and property technology. Further to that, in 2021 Sanders made a $10 million philanthropic commitment to establish the Hopewell M.I.N.D. (Maximizing Innovation in Neuroscience Discovery) Prize in partnership with the Hotchkiss Brain Institute at the University of Calgary. This unique prize serves as a catalyst for bold, high-impact brain and mental health research, awarding up to $1 million annually for projects at critical junctures, with the potential to drive transformative community impact.

As Director of the Hopewell Group, Jason Kraatz plays a strategic role across each company within the Group, providing oversight through a Board structure. The Group’s diverse capabilities span residential land development and home building; commercial land development; property and asset management; warehousing and logistics; final mile distribution; early-stage property technology venture capital; and strategic support. Working alongside the Founders and shareholding families, Jason supports a forward-looking vision for real estate and logistics.

Mike serves as General Counsel to the Hopewell Group of Companies, bringing over 20 years of experience within Hopewell. Initially joining as corporate counsel for the commercial real estate division, Mike transitioned to Hopewell Capital Corporation in 2014, where his role expanded to provide legal oversight, strategic advice, and practical guidance across all Hopewell companies. As General Counsel, Mike plays a central role in strategic initiatives, corporate structuring, and governance, representing shareholder interests and supporting Hopewell’s business operations.

As Director of Tax, Accounting, and Operations at Hopewell Capital Corporation, Sammi oversees daily operations, including Finance and Accounting functions, and provides tax consulting across the Hopewell Group. A Chartered Professional Accountant, Sammi brings extensive expertise in Canadian tax planning, compliance, and dispute resolution. Prior to joining Hopewell, she was a Senior Manager in Private Company Services at PwC, advising private corporations and shareholders on tax matters.

Nic is Director of Asset Management & Investments at Hopewell, managing corporate real estate assets, overseeing venture capital and private equity investments, and driving business development initiatives. He is also responsible for financial analytics and consolidated corporate cashflows across Hopewell’s divisions. Before his time at Hopewell, Nic was vice-president of Finance for a land development company, where he contributed to executive finance initiatives, led diverse financial teams, and supported organizational growth and strategic planning through financial oversight and stakeholder involvement. His expertise includes strategic finance, acquisition and divestiture analysis, and reporting under ASPE, US GAAP, and IFRS. Nic holds CPA, MBA, and MMIE designations, and has presented at Board, investor, and capital committee levels.

As Corporate Controller at Hopewell Capital, Jill manages accounting, finance and tax for Hopewell corporate entities. Previous to this, Jill was the Corporate Controller at Hopewell Residential, the residential real estate arm of the Hopewell Group of Companies.

Beyond her experience at Hopewell, Jill offers deep experience from her career in finance and accounting.

After completing her education at Lakehead University, Jill obtained her Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) designation in 2009, and started her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. There, she was responsible for managing financial statement audits for private and public companies, and acting as global learning and development leader and a Senior Manager on the National Audit Quality Team.

Jill is from Thunder Bay, Ontario, and lives in Calgary, Alberta with her husband, two children and her dogs.
